In the framework of the second Eastern economic forum the Ministry of culture and the governors of 12 regions of Siberia and the Far East signed an agreement on a joint implementation of a project “East ring of Russia”. The project involves the promotion of interregional brand in the global market and financing under the federal target programs of the Russian Ministry of culture and tourism.
The project will bring together the unique tourist and natural potentials of the regions of the Far East. The head of the Federal Tourism Agency Oleg Safonov believes that Primorsk territory has a key role is in this project: “Primorye is the gateway of our country to the Asia-Pacific region, the Primorsk territory is a free port. A simplified visa regime makes it possible to arrive to Vladivostok without unnecessary formalities , and then a tourist may travel across the other regions of the Far East. The head of the Federal Tourism Agency also reported that the growth of the Chinese tourists flow to Primorye was 65% in September compared to last year. A growing number of tourists come from South Korea, Hong Kong.
The Governor of Primorye Vladimir Miklushevsky said that Primorye will be a hub that accumulates and redistributes the tourist flow to other Russian regions in this project, and the creation of package tourism products will attract more tourists.
A presentation of the project “East ring of Russia” was held at the second Pacific tourism forum, which took place in Primorye in may 2016.
