Russian gas deliveries to Europe grow

For a period from January 1 to September, 15, 2016 Gazprom deliveries in the far abroad countries have increased by 9.4% (10.3 billion cubic meters) compared to the same period last year.

According to the information office of PJSC “Gazprom”, the Russian gas deliveries to the UK increased by 54.7%, and the volume of gas delivered to the Netherlands has risen by 91.5%. The deliveries to Poland, Greece and Macedonia have also increased by 20%, 58.7% and 20.3% respectively.

On Sepptember, 14, 2016 delegation of PJSC Gazprom arrived on a visit in France. At the meeting between the head of Gazprom A. Miller and the President of Electricite de France Jean-Bernard Levy, the parties discussed a possibility of creating of new routes for Russian gas deliveries to Europe given the renewal of the “Turkish stream”.

At the meeting between A. Miller with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the energy and gas company ENGIE Gérard Mestrallet, the parties discussed the state and prospects for cooperation on the “Nord stream-2” (project involves the construction of a pipeline with a capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year from Russia to Germany through the Baltic sea).

For the period from 1 January to 13 September 2016, the Russian gas exports to France grew by 27.3% YoY to 8 billion cubic meters.

Along with the increased activity in the European direction, the first steps have also been taken on the resumption of the “Turkish stream” (gas pipeline construction from Russia along the bottom of the Black sea in the direction of the European part of Turkey). On September, 14 the Russian party received the first permit from Turkey for the construction of the offshore section of the pipeline.
