According to the research center “Effet”, 33 new cars and 22 renewed models were launched in Russia in January-May 2016. Most of them were the makes of Mercedes-Benz and Porsche. For instance, Mercedes-Benz started the sales of the new E-class sedan, S-class cabriolet, SLC coupe and the renewed CLA/CLA Shooting Brake, GLS, SL-class. Further, Porsche presented the new 718 Boxster/718 Boxster S, Macan and the renewed Cayman/Cayman S. It is interesting to note that most of the launched new products were the crossovers and offroaders. From the year beginning 18 such cars were added to the Russian SUV segment.
At the same time, 41 car models left the Russian market in January-May 2016. Citroen, Fiat, JAC, Nissan and Toyota were the leading in these terms, and each of them stopped the sales of three models. With that, most of the cars which left the market were the SUV models (14 cars).
For January-May 2016 two-thirds of all car producers changed the prices for cars in Russia. On the average, the following brands had the biggest price growth: Chevrolet (+18.4%), Lexus (+16.1%), Isuzu (+14.9%), Peugeot (+14.7%), Subaru (+14.2%), Toyota (+12.3%), Infiniti (+10.4%), Jeep (+10.1%). Among the segments, the pickups had the biggest price growth (+7.8%) and roadsters the lowest one (+1.7%).
