Pushkin Museum agreed on collaboration with the Uffizi Gallery

The Memorandum of cooperation between the Uffizi Gallery and the Museum of fine arts. Pushkin was agreed on July 12, 2016 at the Embassy of Italy in Moscow. The Memorandum was signed by the Director of the Uffizi Gallery, Eike Schmidt and Director of the Pushkin Museum. Pushkin Marina Loshak. The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Italy in Russia Cesare Maria Ragalini.

Uffizi Gallery (it. Galleria degli Uffizi) is one of the most famous galleries of Italy situated in Florence. Its story starts with Cosimo de ‘ Medici who brought offices in the same building by the work of Giorgio Vasari in the XVI century. The name of the art Museum comes from the word “office”. The collection is rich by the Italian Renaissance: Sandro Botticelli, Raphael, Rembrandt, Michelangelo and da Vinci.

Under the agreement, from 13 September to 11 December 2016 scientific event “Raphael. The poetry of the image in the Pushkin Museum. A. S. Pushkin” is expected . For the first time in Russia will be exhibited Italian collection of the best works of Raphael: “Portrait”, “Portrait of Maddalena Strozzi,” “Portrait of Agnolo Doni”, “Madonna Granduca” and “angel.”

From 20 September to 13 November 2016 at the Pushkin Museum will also be the exhibition of one hundred works of Giovanni Piranesi. .
