One way of holidays in Italy

One way of holidays in Italy

Italy has always been one of the most attractive countries for holidays. Anyone is familiar with the route “Classic Italy” (Rome – Florence – Venice) and the famous Italian seaside resorts Sardinia, Sicily, Rimini. Recently also Puglia is becoming more popular, where at relatively low prices the quality of service has significantly improved. And the sea in Italy is beautiful everywhere.

But for persons over 40 years old who want to relax in peace, without the usual fuss of the resort, to breath fresh mountain air and to get health-improving mud SPA procedures (at very reasonable prices), this place fits perfectly. I want to tell you about the resort Terme San Vittore. Its thermal waters have miraculous properties; I’m convinced in it by my own experience.

The source is located in the little town of Genga, in the scenic mountain valley. 220 km from Rome and 60 km from Ancona. Its sulphurous water (and mud) is suitable for the treatment of arthritis, osteoarthritis, rheumatism, diseases of the upper respiratory tract; it helps recovery after fractures and other injuries. To Russians of the older generation who remember Matsesta muds, I can say that the muds of Genga have a more gentle influence, their use has no contraindications.

Hotel is located at the resort, all rooms with air conditioning and TV; you can order full or half board. Feeding – at the level of the best Italian restaurants, with a choice of menu and the quantity of food in half board is full enough for a whole day

Around the hotel there are few small restaurants and a pizzeria, paths for walking. And of course – Frassassi grottoes, which are among the largest in Europe. The tour lasts more than an hour, the length of the route – 1’500 m. It is really an impressive spectacle that is remembered for a long time.

But to those who still want to swim and sunbathe, I can say that 40 minutes by train (station nearby) – and you’re on the Adriatic coast, in Ancona. It’s certainly not so famous resort as Rimini, for example, but a walk through the historic center of a typical small town, delicious and inexpensive food in the small fish restaurants, comfortable beaches and warm sea – all nearby.

How to get there: by plane from Moscow to Rome, then by train Rome – Ancona (2.5 hours). If the tour group will is formed hotel provides a transfer from Rimini.
