New Mercedes-Benz E-class cabriolet represented in Geneva

This year, Mercedes-Benz focused the attention of Geneva Motor Show visitors on the premiere of all-new Mercedes-Benz E-class cabriolet. The new four-seat convertible model completes the renewal of E-class family, which in addition to the coupe and convertible includes a sedan, wagon and off-road wagon – All-Terrain.

Mercedes-Benz E-class cabriolet – belongs to the family of large executive convertibles. The new 9-th generation is available with petrol engines 2.0 (184, 211hp) 3.0 (333hp), 3.5 (252, 306hp) and 4.7 (408hp). Diesel range includes 2.2 (170, 204hp) and 3.0 (252hp) engines. Price of the car is from 47’600 Euros. It will appear in showrroms in June 2017. BMW 6-series Convertible (88’350 Euros) remains its key competitor.

The new convertible is longer and wider it will noticed by rear passengers first. It provides a separate seats and comfort during long distance travel. Extended wheelbase and a wide arrangement of front and rear wheels improved dynamics and drivability.

Among technological innovations it has a wireless charging and key function of smartphone, the Aircap electric draught-stop system and the Airscarf neck-level heating system, all-wheel drive system and a 9-speed automatic transmission.

The vehicle comes also with fully automatic acoustic soft top, which can be fully opened and closed in 20 seconds. Boot’s volume is an impressive 310 litres (when the roof is open). Another convenience is folding rear seat backrests create a through-loading feature in the interior.

According to Britta Seeger, Member of the Board of Management at Daimler AG, “The passion for extraordinary vehicles, which we share with our customers, is reflected in our new E‑Class Cabriolet in a unique way. It is a car that lets people enjoy comfort and luxury in the open air”.

When the car will appear in Russia and what trims will be available is not yet known.
