Global sales of Group Renault totaled 3.18 million of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in 2016. It is 13.3% more than in 2015 year. In Europe it sold 1`805`290 vehicles (+11.8%), and gain 10.6% market share. In Eurasia region sales rose by 2.3%, and market share reached 13%.
Russian sales of the Groupe fell by 2.6% to 117’230 vehicles. Despite the sales falling market share grew up to 8.2%. This paradox is explained by the fact that the overall automotive market in Russia fell by 10.8%. The company attributes their success to a good launch and great popularity of the model Kaptur in Russia.
Renault brand is the leader of European market of electric vehicles, where it sold last year 25’648 (+11%) electrical vehicles (excluding Twizy). It includes 21’735 (+16%) Renault Zoe cars and 3’901 electric Kango Z. E. commercial vehicles.
