Ford on the falling Russian car market increased sales by 10% in 2016

According to the company Ford Sollers, resulting 2016 sales of Ford vehicles in Russia increased by 10% comparing to 2015 and reached 42’528 machines. At the same time, the overall Russian car market fell by around -10% compared to the last year (to 1.44 million according to preliminary estimates of the Association of European Business).

The main models that the automaker offered on the Russian market are Ford Focus, crossover Ford Kuga and LCV Ford Transit. The 2017 premiere of the company, as explained to “E-Vesti” Ford press-service will be FordKuga of the 2017 model year. It is already produced from December 2016 at the plant in Yelabuga.

The current company’s production, localized in Russia, represents 7 passenger cars Ford (Fiesta, Focus, Mondeo Kuga Kuga Ecosport, the new Explorer) and light commercial Transit. They are manufactured at the 4 domestic plants of the company. At the moment 2017 PY vehicles are available for order.

According to the official website of the company, there are 125 Ford dealerships in Russia. “We don’t have plans to expand dealer network in absolute numbers. We change retired players or those who are eliminated for various reasons. Dealer network quantitatively remained at approximately the same level as a year earlier,” – explained to “E-Vesti” Alexey Belov from the press service of Ford Sollers.
