Electric cars will appear in Krasnodar region

Krasnodar region continues to implement the project of electric transport in the South of Russia. Two agreements in this sphere were signed at Russian investment forum in Sochi. One of them will create a network of charging stations, the second one will establish special zones accessible only for electric vehicles and will launch rental and car-sharing services of electric vehicles.

The project of electric charging stations network will provide 100 EV charging stations on the territory of Kuban. At the first stage 10 stations with capacity 50 KW will appear in Krasnodar, then another 90 will be mounted on “Don” and “Caucasus” highways. It will allow recharging the car after every 60 km. The project will be implemented by joint efforts of the Government of Krasnodar region, United Instrument Manufacturing Corporation and manufacturer of charging stations.

In addition to establishing of infrastructure, the project will launch rental service of electric vehicles and electric taxis, as reported by Andrey Alekseenko, Vice-Governor of Krasnodar region. There will be 300 electric cars in the region by August 2017. The investment volume of the project will amount to 1.3 billion rubles, the payback period is 5 years.

The second agreement signed by the Krasnodar Krai, Renault Russia and Rosseti, will launch a pilot project on creation of “green zones” in Sochi, Adler and the Olympic Park, available only for electrically powered vehicles. Rental and car-sharing services of electric vehicles will be also available there. The same facilities will appear on special natural territories and in Sochi dendropark.
